In 2012 Dutch Passion began working with the CBD Crew to produce a range of feminized cannabis seeds which produce plants rich in the cannabinoid CBD. A variety with over 4% CBD is regarded as CBD rich.Traditionally cannabis has THC levels of 12-21% and CBD levels of 0.1% to 0.3%. However some varieties have now been cultivated with much higher CBD levels.CBD has a number of important properties, it can help with relaxation and nausea, reduce anxiety and improve sleep. CBD varieties may allow users to medicate themselves yet still think clearly and function well. For recreational users, the new CBD varieties may be a less intense but equally pleasurable alternative to traditional varieties.
CBD Skunk Haze comes from a project between Dutch Passion and CBD Crew. The goal was to achieve an optimum ratio of 1:1 THC:CBD. For medical use low %THC is preferred for some medical patients who want a relaxing and high quality genuine cannabis effect without the intensity that some high THC varieties give. Recreational users find that high CBD levels give a very comfortable and smooth high without anxiety or paranoia. CBD Skunk Haze contains 5% THC and 5% CBD. To create this variety our Haze/Skunk (winner of the 1992 High Times Cannabis Cup) was carefully crossed with a high CBD variety.CBD Skunk Haze produces large tall plants. This Sativa/Indica cross (50/50) produces large buds which are not too dense. The aroma and taste are of spicy cedar wood alongside tones of citrus, pine and mint. We carefully selected original Haze seeds from our 30 year old seedbank to create this variety. She is 80/20 sativa/indica with 15%-20% THC and is a cross of our Super Haze with a very special clone of Amnesia. These days many strains are bred with yield as an understandably important consideration, but not Dark Delight. Dark Delight is a strain of pure indulgence for the connoisseur. This is an Indica dominant feminised strain that has been bred with the sole goal of producing the finest sensimilla possible. The strain took an exotic multi-blend of North American, Afghanistan and European genetics to give this 75% Indica/25% Sativa strain which produces an exquisite and fantastic ganja.
The plants grow up to 1.5m and produce dense bud in medium quantities with very few leaves making her easy to trim. The leaves take on a dark appearance which is how she got the name. Some leaves can be nearly black towards the end of the 8-10 week flowering period. Outdoors or in greenhouses she is ready around the middle of October. We consider Ortega Indica a medicinal cannabis variety. Ortega Indica is a hybrid of Northern Lights #1 and another strong Indica, both dating back to the late seventies. Extremely penetrating odour/aroma: earthy, spicy and tobacco.
Our seven-person test team reported that Ortega Indica is a good variety to smoke before going to sleep, a feature present in all Indica strains, but more extreme in Ortega Indica. It works as an effective sleeping pill and tranquilizer.
Ortega Indica is special in that it’s "stone/high" does not have a cloudy "morning after effect". In other words, the morning after smoking Ortega Indica, almost no cannabis effects are experienced any more. Smoke Ortega Indica and wake up with a clear mind. For the creation of Dutch Cheese ( 60% Sativa, 40% Indica) our breeders took the best cheese genetics and crossed them with various other strains. We were looking for the ‘perfect match’, where two stable strains can be crossed to give a new variety that improves on both of the parents. The ideal genetics to improve Cheese eventually came from our “Euforia” - a potent Skunk selection and a personal favorite of some of the Dutch Passion team.
The crossbreeding with Euforia has not compromised the cheesy qualities at all. But it has given improved potency and significant yield improvements, growing to a height of 60-80cm with lots of sticky side buds that show some internodal spacing that will help prevent bud rot/mould – an important feature for a heavy-yielding variety. A F1 cross between two different Hindu-kush strains. Yield is high. Excellent taste and strong high. One of our favorites.
We bravely extracted this sturdy plant back from the Hindu Kush region of Afghanistan, it is a compact and forgiving variety that grows well in any medium such as soil, hydro, coco etc. Master Kush produces an extremely potent smoke that is smooth and sweet with earthy/citrus flavours, the high is strong and powerful. Less odour than normal is produced during flowering (important for some growers). Buds are large, heavy and pale green with long hairs that range from white to orange/brown. Master Kush is resistant to spidermite but can be susceptible to mould in humid conditions due to the sheer size and density of the bud growth.Master Kush thrives under most growing conditions; it clones easily and is a reliably generous producer of very high quality pot. Euforia is a special strain that came from our skunk breeding program in 1996, That program gave us a rich Skunk family including the original Skunk #1, Skunk#11, Skunk Passion, Orange Bud, and Euforia. Euforia was initially noticed for the high yields of 400-600g/m² and being part of the stable Skunk line Euforia proved to be reliably strong and stable with all the plants looking exceptionally good, one for bumper harvests. Outdoor growers in Holland reported that Euforia gave excellent quality stash in generous quantities in good summers. Greenhouses really make a great home for Euforia and she is harvested around the end of October or beginning of November. She is very easy to clone and makes a perfect mother plant to take cuttings from, with the cuttings all developing into healthy uniform plants. Euforia has been used by many seed breeders due to the stable genetics and easy cloning.
Users immediately noted the special euphoric high that was associated with the strain. Medical growers from the 1990’s to the current day have told us how good this is for pain relief and particularly for stress relief. A couple of the Dutch Passion staff rate this as their personal favourite and it is one that should be tried by all growers.

Californian Orange is a genuine old school classic available only from Dutch Passion. It is a 50% Indica/50% sativa hybrid that dates back to 1980 and since then it has only ever been inbred. The genetics come from an exceptional Californian strain and this variety packs a superb quality stone with a clear ‘up’ high, very social and very special. If you smoke too much the stone becomes heavier, though the quality is not diminished. The plants are usually 1.2-2m tall and yield well at around 400grams/m² with a normal calyx/leaf ratio. Some of the plants have a pronounced citrus aroma and fragrance making this an appealing, and potent, variety that has satisfied the thousands of growers that have tried it. Californian Orange is a strong and stable strain with high levels of resin production even on the leaves. Sometimes the original classic strains such as Californian Orange retain a loyal following many years after they were released, despite all the exciting new strains and modern hybrids that come along. Ultra Skunk is the product of our 1999 Skunk project, breeding, and then cross breeding the best Skunk strains from proven Dutch and Swiss genetics. Our leading Skunk specialist selected a variety that combined the thickest buds whilst retaining the best skunk qualities and potency. The genetics have a hint of a leading Indica strain, this gives some leaves in the buds but also adds strength and consistently heavy yields to this top Skunk variety. A large producer under optimum conditions. A dense and stout plant with red, purple and finally blue hues, that usually cure to a lavender blue. The finished product has a very fruity aroma and taste of blueberry. It produces a notable and pleasantly euphoric high of the highest quality and is very long lasting. Medium to large calyxes. “Blueberry” has a long shelf life.

After many years in our genebank Blue Velvet, sister of our famous Blueberry, is back. Blue Velvet is 50% indica/50% sativa although the indica genetics are the dominant ones which tend to be expressed more clearly. The parent genetics come from Purple Thai (a cross of Oaxaca Gold and a special Chocolate Thai) and a powerful Afghani Indica. In the 1990’s Dutch Passion worked together with the original Blueberry breeder, this was the time when Dutch Passion first introduced the Blueberry family into Europe. Blue Velvet has been bred using original seed-stock from that 1990’s breeding project.
She produces a fast-hitting and velvety smooth high. Indoors Blue Velvet will give good yields, though she will often remain short at around 50-60cm, therefore she is good in SOG (sea-of-green) grows.
Blue Velvet forms a sturdy main bloom frosted with lots of resin, indoors she requires 8 weeks to flower. Outdoors she is ready by the end of September/early October. She may show blue colourations especially when exposed to cooler indoor growing conditions or when grown outdoors. When grown outdoors in a good climate Blue Velvet can reach 2-3m tall. Blue Velvet is easy to take cuttings from and able to take reasonably high nutrient levels. She is celebrated for an uplifting and euphoric high with a fruity floral taste. Skywalker is a hybrid product of a Mazar female and a Blueberry male. The intention was to create one of the best Indicas in the world. After an absence of 10 years Dutch Passion are pleased to announce the return of Night Queen . Night Queen was an original 1980’s Dutch Passion classic, around even before Dutch Passion became a registered seed company. Our 1987 catalogue describes Night Queen as a broadleaved Afghani Indica which was popular with hardcore stoners for the intense body stone. We upgraded Night Queen in 1997 but sales dropped as growers opted for the newer strains and hybrids which were being introduced at the time. Reluctantly Night Queen was withdrawn from our collection.
We have had many requests to bring Night Queen back and so we did. Our goal was to re-create an Indica which would meet the world class standards achieved by our multiple award winning Mazar. The outcome was a crystal covered, fast early flowering and typically indica variety which is easy to grow and resistant to pests and fungus. The new Night Queen is forgiving and very easy to take cuttings from, a perfect mother plant. She is short and will suit indoor growers looking at SOG/SCROG techniques. The name is an accurate one since most of the plants are a very dark green, almost black. The females are quite special, dark, beautiful and with heavy harvests of frosty, hard and dense bud growth – these are real Queens. High THC and CBD levels will appeal to medical growers, as will the very generous yields of over 500grams/m² under good conditions.
Night Queen is one of those rare genuine hash-plant smokes, a rich Afghani Indica heritage producing highly potent resin-frosted bud. Pamir Gold originated in the western Himalayas of Tadzjikistan. The plant was adapted to the high altitudes of the Swiss Alpes during several years of selective breeding. Once selected seeds were reproduced in the Netherlands. Pamir Gold is a mostly Indica variety (60% - 40%) having a sweet earthy taste with a breath of lemon and pear. Healthy plants are 1.5 to 1.8 meters in height outdoors. Mold and mildew resistant. Yield: above average. Does also well indoors. Subtile stone/high.

Passion #1comes to you with our highest recommendations. It is one of the best green outdoor varieties available anywhere, and has been ever since it hit the scene in the 1970’s as a legendary Californian Indica. Passion#1 made its way to Dutch Outdoor growers in the 1980’s thanks to Dutch Passion and has established a reputation as a strong, stable strain that is easy to grow. If started early in the season, Passion#1 can reach 3.5m tall, though 2m is more typical. Yields can range from 250 grams to as much as 750g from large plants that can reach staggering proportions when grown in optimum conditions.
Passion#1 grows long and compact buds that are heavy with resin, this is a variety developed only for outdoor/greenhouse and is not for the indoor grower. When you trim this plant remove only the large fan leavers, the smaller leaves are often dripping with resin. The smoke is soft and gentle with a fresh citrus aroma, then Passion #1 hits you quickly with a strong exhilarating ‘up’ high. Smoke a little more and you will notice a strong, heavy and pleasurable stone. We have measured Passion #1 with THC levels approaching 20% making this a genuinely satisfying selection for your outdoor garden or greenhouse. Hollands Hope is a time honoured outdoor strain, one of the very first to be fully acclimatised and grown outdoors in Holland since the early 1980’s. Hollands Hope is noted for its mold resistance, this is a hardy and reliable variety that is ready for harvest around the end of September or early October after around 8 weeks of flowering.
This is a quality Indica bred to tolerate the Dutch outdoor climate but it will grow well in other outdoor climates. The plants are typically 1-2m tall, this is a heavy yielding Indica strain with a real knockout stone and has been a favourite outdoor strain of ours since the beginning.
Plants can yield anywhere from 100g to 1000g per plant depending on the growing conditions. Be careful not to give too much nutrition to Hollands Hope as it can encourage too many leaves and actually reduce bud production. Buds typically reach 50cm in length and contain small leaves.

Trance is a special outdoor variety bred for specifically for Skunk lovers who want a true Skunk experience in a plant that can mature fully under outdoor conditions. Sometimes, with 100% pure skunk varieties bred for indoor grow conditions it can be difficult to get good results when the plants are grown outdoors. Dutch Passion hybridised a carefully selected Skunk with a tough Indica strain to create Trance. Trance is an F1 hybrid which has come out as a particularly good quality variety that matures earlier than most. Outdoors it may be fully ripened by the end of September or 2nd week of October. Plants may reach 1-1.5m tall and can produce large leaves. Occasionally the plants turn a remarkable and beautiful red colour and deliver an excellent quality high that lasts for 2-3 hours. THC levels are 12-13% which is ample for a top quality supply of weed which retains the genuine skunk taste and flavours.

Purple#1 is the world famous classic original purple variety that dates back to the early 1980’s and has been treasured for it’s uniquely beautiful purple colourings and great high. Used extensively by other seedbanks for breeding, our original Purple#1 plant is a 50/50 sativa/indica mix. The indica parentage comes from a very special purple Afghani which was carefully crossed in Holland with some top indica and sativa strains to create a strong outdoor plant that is fully adapted to the Dutch climate. Yields are a reasonable 250-350 grams per plant, the calyx’s turn purple quickly as flowering begins and the buds are complemented by sweet and sticky small purple leaves that grow amongst the resin soaked purple buds. Purple #1 is typically 1.5m-2.5m tall, it is for outdoors/greenhouse only and is an early finisher. The fan leaves are often sativa-like in appearance and show amazing purple colours. This variety has had it’s own dedicated fanbase for several decades and remains a popular and beautifully distinctive strain some 30 years after it was first released. Purple#1 gives a sticky, fruity purple-streaked ganja that has a superb fast-hitting high. The high isn’t the longest lasting but this is more than compensated for by the quality of the experience. It is more of an ‘up’ high than a stone with a somewhat rough, yet subtle, aroma. This is our former variety Purple /Skunk. This variety is a hybrid (F1) of Purple#1 and an early Skunk. About 50% of the plants turn purple during flowering. The variety is 87,5% Sativa and 12,5% Indica.

Twilight is one of Dutch Passions proven outdoor strains that growers have been loyal to for a combination of beautiful purple blooms, a genuine stony indica high and reliable growth. Twilight is a quite exceptionally beautiful purple variety, 100% indica with heavy yields and buds that can be 50cm long when grown well. She is often sown outdoors after 15th May and is harvested at the end of September or in the 1st week in October after 7-8 weeks of flowering. Plants grow to 1-1.5m tall and have good yields. During autumn they undertake a beautiful purple transformation that you will want to sit and gaze at; these are quite special and handsome plants.
The taste is earthy with a strong and sour Afghani flavour. The high is uplifting, strong and skunky. It is a long lasting high that will normally be elevating but may also cause you to sit back and relax, and then sit back again.
