There are many variations of Hash Plant; it reportedly originated as a Lebanese/Thai Hybrid in North West USA and was later hybridised with Northernlights No 1. Like many popular US strains it was brought to Holland as a clone for further development within commercial seed breeding programmes. It was offered first by the Super Sativa Seed Club and later by the Sinsemilla Seed Company (now Sensi Seeds).

Due to its indica genetics, it is a small, bushy plant, and has unusually large, wide dark leaves. It branches very keenly, which enables it to be very successful when flowering. Its calyx to leaf ratio is one of the largest for any indica strain.

It has a sweet hashy flavour and aroma due to the high resin content of the flowers.

Sacred Seeds bred original Haze in the late 1970s from a combination of several sativas, including a Mexican/Columbian, some Thai and South Indians. The flavour is typically sweet and sour and the high mildly psychedelic and uplifting.

Originating from Swaziland (South Africa), Swazi is a high yielding and resinous pure sativa, which gives a strong natural effect. The cross with Skunk No. 1 sped up the flowering cycle and increased flower and leaflet size and potency. Swazi Skunk has a sweet pine flavour relished by connoisseurs.

The genetics of Northern Lights is one of the most confused of all existing cannabis seeds strains because there is no one who can take entire credit for its creation. Northern Lights was developed as an indoor cannabisseed strain in the late 1970s near Seattle in Washington, although the genetics involved in the cross were known to have come from California - the original home of a great many of the most famous cannabis seeds strains. It was initially a stabilised cannabis sativa strain crossed with an Afghani indica hybrid.

Northern Lights travelled to Holland as a clone where it was introduced to the commercial cannabis seed market in 1985 by The Seed Bank.

Because it arrived as a clone it could not be inbred for stability and cannabis seed production, therefore Skunk No 1 and Original Haze were used to produce seeds off it so it could be used as a parent plant.

Northern Lights distinctly shows its Afghani indica genetic background; it is a small plant that produces, big highly resinous flowers. Although it was initially developed for indoor growers excellent results have been produced outside.Northern Lights has a sweet resinous taste and produces a physical comfortable but lazy feeling, known to some as ‘couch lock’.

Hindu Kush is a long-maintained pure indica strain from the mountains of Afghanistan. Initially selected by Sacred Seeds in the late 1970s for its excellent hashish production due to dense buds and copious amounts of resin. Crossing with Skunk No. 1 has helped to improve its performance outside of its natural habitat.

Hindu Kush Skunk has a mesmerizing and intense high with an excellent flavour of sweet hash and fruit. It is extremely popular for its resin yield.

Hawaiian Indica is an indica / sativa hybrid with very large female flowers, and resin production on leaves as well as flowers. Hawaiian Skunk has a citrus smell with a spicy taste and produces a happy cerebral high. It is a short rounded plant with exceptionally broad leaves, which produces a generous yield.

Colombian Rojo Haze is an excellent sativa hybrid cross between a Neville's Haze mother and a Colombian Red father.Neville's Haze (the mother) is a stong pine flavoured long leafed 75% sativa strain - a hybrid cross of Original Haze with a quarter Northern Lights.  The resulting strain being a heavier budder than true Haze strains but with strong Haze cerebral effect.  It is named after its renowned creator Neville - one of the pioneers of commercial cannabis seed breeding programmes.For many years Colombia was not only famous for its export of cocaine to the US and the rest of the world, but also for its growing marijuana trade and export.  Traffickers were looking for new areas to pick up high quality marijuana after the authorities were catching on quickly in Mexico, using paraquat and other underhand measures to stop growers and trafickers at any cost.  Colombia was fortunate to have some of the most popular and most potent landrace strains e.g. Colombian Gold, Columbian Red (or Punta Roja).  It is thought that Columbian Gold originated in the highlands of Colombia whilst Colombian Red originated in lower areas.  Colombian Red has a brownish-red flair on the edges of the leaves with red highlights bringing attention to its buds.

Colombian Rojo Haze is an hybrid cross of Neville's Haze with Columbian Red - it is 80% sativa and flowers in 12-14 weeks. A lengthy time but like most Haze strains the finished bud is of the highest quality. It is a strong plant that can be easily bent indoor to adapt to low ceiling rooms. It will grow to 1.5 metres in 7.5 litre pots with a short vegetative period.

Characteristics: Quick flowerer, good in cold climates.

This f1 hybrid is one of the most interesting in our seed range.  It is a cross of two pure lines coming from different geographic regions not very well-known in the cannabis world. One parent comes from Alaska, home of the famous Matanuska Thunderfuck. This line is pure indica and shows good resistance to frost thanks to its origin. 

The other parent comes from Kazakhstan, a wide region that extends from north Afghanistan between Uzbekistan and  Russia, neighbouring China in the east.  This parent is similar to the Afghani Kush, with a lemony smell typical of the Citral of Pakistan.
 Growing Ata Tundra you can see many of the characteristics of both these parent plants.  Our hybrid is 100% indica.  It is suitable for indoor and outdoor cultivation.  It is our quickest flowering strain; finishing in around 45 days or outdoors towards the end of September.  Its optimum THC level is around 20%.It produces large, lemon scented compact buds. The hardiness of this plant coupled with its early maturation and ease of growth make it perfect for guerrilla cultivation techniques.

Jungle Wreck is a cross between an unknown Colombian strain showing mostly indica characteristics, possibly Santa Marta Gold and another citrous tasting indica strain.The strain was created after some confusion with one of our breeders over his genetics but was not something we wanted to dispose off as it looked so good whilst growing and proved to be after the harvest.  Any wannabe breeders please note the importance of a good labelling system on seeds and pollen!Jungle Wreck is a lovely indica dominant strain with a lemony taste.  It will grow excellently indoors, especially in a sea of green set up alternatively it’s a great outdoor indica in warm climates.Although untested we are sure that this strain has a high CBD content as it has a very relaxing stoned effect and we all found it pretty giggly, despite the fact that THC content can reach around 18.5%.

This is one of our most impressive sativas not for yield but for taste and effect.  Our breeders have continually selected the most early maturing, and vigorous growing phenotypes from their Thai genetics to help shorten the usually very lengthy Thai sativas flowering period.  At the same time they have aimed to maintain the other beneficial characteristics, and we are more than happy with the results.The optimum THC content of this plant lies around 22% and this gives a clear, strong cerebral high.  Beware this can sometimes seem a little hallucinogenic in strong doses.This strain now flowers in 11 weeks so is more suitable for indoors than out.  Although it will grow happily in greenhouses, that will protect it from any early frosts.  It will also grow outside in warmer climates such as around the Mediterranean.This plant can grow large when allowed and produces light fluffy sativa buds favoured more by the connoisseur than by cultivators growing for yield.

Characteristics: Vigorous pure Indica with skunky smell.

This strain is a pure indica f1 hybrid cross of two vigorous strains from the Hindu Kush Mountains; one of the places cannabis was thought to have originated from. It grows very well both indoors and outdoors although, keep a good eye outdoors as it can be susceptible to mould.  It can be grown well in a see of green set up. Narkush has large dark leaves that show off its pure indica genetics perfectly.  It is a good resin producer with  resin glands appearing not just on the buds but down some of the bigger leaves too.  This is another great strain for hashish production, especially if it has been grown under optimum conditions inside. We named this plant Narkush due to its heavy narcotic effect that makes anyone smoking it feel heavily body stoned.  This is a great strain for anyone with sleeping problems.

Purple Bud is an interesting variety coming from Oregon in the USA.  In Oregon and California there are many different coloured varieties such as Purple Oregon Sativa, the Purple Akala or the “the Purps” praised  by Jason King in his book The Cannabible.  These strain are as interesting as much for their colours as for their fruity tastes.  It belongs to the “purple family” of cannabis strains.  In America these plants are called purple even if they are lightly coloured e.g. light pink or light violet, contrary to the Dutch ones which are sometimes almost black due to the effect of the local climate.  This strain is very similar to Skunk #1 in characteristics, genetics and growth patterns.  It is easy to cultivate and finishes flowering in 9 weeks.  Its optimum THC content is around 20%.Purple Bud gives a good cerebral high, perfect for enjoying the great outdoors.

Characteristics: Sweet tasting cerebral haze.

The Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta is a mountain range in the Northwest of Colombia.  It reaches an altitude of 5,700 metres above sea level, just 42 km from the Caribbean coast; it is the world's highest coastal range. The mountain range encompasses about 17,000 km² and serves as the source of 36 rivers.It is the perfect habitat for a huge variety of plants including cannabis and many strains have flourished there.  For over 40 years now cannabis enthusiasts and American hippies have included Santa Marta on their South American marijuana trail and certain varieties have deservedly earnt a good reputation e.g. Santa Marta Gold, a yellowing indica dominant strain.In our Sugar Haze we have crossed a Santa Marta with Original Haze, one of the Skunkman’s most famous creations.  The result is a fast flowering sativa dominant haze strain with a THC potential of around 23%.  This strain has a sweet taste but is a heavy hitter and not recommended for the occasional user.Through our selective crossbreeding techniques we have managed to reduce the flowering time on this strain to below almost all other haze strains, so much so that it can be grown outdoors in places, and should finish by the end of October.
